daffodils

What a thrill

A daffodil

Came out of the ground

Looked around

And decided it is not a crime

Just the right time

Out to climb

Shook the petals

Thought it could settle

To be a pleasure to the eyes

To all passersby

Reminding them of what has yet to come:

the warming of the sun

the blooming of the trees

the zooming of the bees

the openness and love

the tune of the mourning dove

the summer fashion and the beach

the bite of a juicy peach

But wait, wait we are not done

There are still a few weeks of winter until the fun!
